A little bit about me!

      Hi there! My name is Miss Maudie Atkinson. I live in Alabama in a small town called Maycomb. We all know each other very well and by that I mean we all know each others business very well. Citizens in this town often don't mind their own business. One family that I really respect are the Finches, I've known them for many years. They live across the street from me and are a very lovely family. Atticus Finch has two great children, Jem and Scout. I often let them play in my front yard if they keep out of my azaleas. The little girl, Scout, has been coming round my house more often these days. I think she is looking for a female role model since she is being raised by only a man. Her Aunt Alexandra really does not make it easy for her to live a simple childhood life. I try to help that family out in anyway possible. Their father, Atticus Finch, is facing major controversy because he is defending a black man in a trial. The county of Maycomb has never seen anything like this. Many in this community are quick to judge him and what he is doing but I think he is showing great courage. He should be able to defend anyone without people making such a big deal about it. 

      Enough about other people and more about me. Some of my hobbies include gardening (I think I have to best garden in the town) and baking. I enjoy these 2 hobbies the most because they are very relaxing. I know people, especially the Finch children, appreciate my baking. I like to make them little cakes for a treat. I hope that you enjoyed reading about me and my town but I gotta go, it's very hot out and my flowers need some watering. I will surely be back as soon as possible. Bye!
